Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with this app or those who created it.
For me these last few weeks have been about increasing my productivity. I like popup notifications and basically any tool that cuts down on the number of browser windows and programs that I am running.
One of my clients prefers to use text messaging to communicate. Ideally I prefer email because I find it cumbersome to read and write text messages on my phone that are lengthy. As a workaround I installed and started using MightyText, an app that allows you to read and compose text messages from any computer with the Google Chrome browser by connecting your Android phone to Chrom.
This setup requires
- Google Chrome Browser
- Android phone
- MightyText Chrome extension (free)
- MightyText Android App (free)
P.S. If you go to MightyText.net and sign up for free using this link I get some credit. And if you do then I thank you :)
If you have a Google account and the four items listed above then setting this up takes less than 10 minutes.
The interface is very clean and fast. When you receive a text to your phone the same text will popup in your browser. If you want to respond then you click on the app icon and type away, send it, and it sends a copy to the recipient and syncs with your Android phone. I’ve even started sending myself texts as reminders for the next time I check my phone. This is great for something I need to remember first thing the next morning.
